India Post GDS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria regarding age and educational qualifications as of the last date of submission of applications.
Educational Qualification
- Secondary School Examination: Candidates must possess a Secondary School Examination (SSE) pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English conducted by any recognized Board of School Education.
- Local Language: The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to the 10th Standard from a recognized board.
- Computer Knowledge: Knowledge of computers is required.
- Cycling: Knowledge of cycling is mandatory.

India Post GDS Selection Process
The selection process for GDS posts will be based on the following criteria:
- Merit List: Applicants will be shortlisted for engagement on the basis of a system-generated merit list.
- Criteria: The Merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination of 10th standard aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.
- No Exam/Interview: There is no written examination or interview. Past experience or service of any kind will not be considered for selection.
- Grades/Points: For applicants having only grades, subject-wise marks will be arrived at by applying a multiplication factor of 9.5.

Applicants must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- for all posts notified in the choice of Division. However, certain categories are exempted from payment.
